For Rob and his wife · about 20 minutes each · just a phone

Your voiceover lines

Your fixed, itemised quote video brought in the cheapest enquiries of anything we've run. These lines take that and put your finished work behind it, with a new picture on every line. No camera. You read them into your phone and we do the rest.

Rob

Two scripts, your openers, the town lines and the endings.

Rob's wife

Two short scripts and six openers. You know what it's like living through a build, and that's who these talk to.

Together

One back and forth. She asks, Rob answers. About five minutes.

Lines recorded

How to record

  1. Voice Memos on the iPhone. First, Settings, Voice Memos, Audio Quality, Lossless.
  2. Sit in the car, parked somewhere quiet, engine off. Best free studio there is. A bedroom with the wardrobe open works too.
  3. Phone a hand's width from your mouth, just below your chin.
  4. Say the code, then the line. "H1, take one. Got drawings for an extension..."
  5. Two takes of every line. Make the second a bit different, quicker or warmer.
  6. Say it your way. Change any word that doesn't sound like you. Keep the facts the same.
  7. Tap a line here once it's done and it ticks off, so you know where you're up to.

A few rules

  1. The Brighton house was our carpentry, not the whole build, so never "we built that one".
  2. No other builders' names.
  3. If a line isn't true for you, skip it and tell Lloyd. We'll change it.

Send it as a file

In Voice Memos tap the recording, then Share, then WhatsApp to Lloyd. Send it as the file, not as a voice note, because voice notes squash the sound. One long recording each is fine, the editors cut it up by the codes.
